Sara crafts compelling media releases, brochures, fact sheets, and other materials that help key constituents stay updated and make informed decisions. She helps clients understand and use digital communications tools, expanding their exposure on the Internet by developing creative Web site and social media material.

Sara coordinated Saint Mary's University's participation in the 2009 Toys for Tots drive, securing an appearance on KARE 11, pitching stories to local media, and updating social media channels to publicize the university's drop off locations. She uses her experience as a college news editor to help our clients identify newsworthy opportunities to tell timely, memorable stories.

Before joining Goff & Howard in 2009, Sara interned in the marketing and communication department of CaringBridge, a local nonprofit that provides free Web sites that connect families and friends during serious health events. She helped write the nonprofit's promotional toolkit, drafted press releases, conducted interviews, and wrote personal testimonials for the Web site.

In May 2009, Sara graduated cum laude from Saint Olaf College (Northfield, Minnesota) with bachelor's degrees in history and American studies. While at Saint Olaf, she served as the news editor for the college's newspaper, the Manitou Messenger, where she assigned, wrote and edited articles and designed the layout of the four-page section. While working for the newspaper, Sara investigated the college's compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act regulations, exposing several instances of noncompliance.

Sara was also active in Saint Olaf's Chapter of Amnesty International, organizing numerous fundraisers for the organization. Her passion for human rights informs both her work and personal life. In her free time, Sara enjoys traveling, camping, canoeing and hiking in Minnesota' great outdoors, reading, and cheering for the Minnesota Twins.
