Goff & Howard

When Bob co-founded Goff & Howard, he sought to create a fully-integrated public relations and government affairs firm - something which still distinguishes Goff & Howard from other practitioners in Minnesota. Although now semi-retired, he continues to help actively shape the company's long-term goals and advise our clients on decisions related to media relations, crisis communications, and lobbying.

Over the past two decades, Bob has helped guide and integrate the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe's legislative and public relations strategies on key tribal issues, including gaming and tribal sovereignty.

Minnesota Law & Politics magazine named Bob one of Minnesota's top lobbyists. These awards recognize Bob's commanding presence in Minnesota's government affairs scene. Bob has also been named one of "Minnesota's 100 Smartest People" by Minnesota Law & Politics. He was honored with Saint Cloud State University's Distinguished Alumni Award in 2007.

Before co-founding Goff & Howard, Bob held senior positions in two gubernatorial administrations and was active in the upper echelons of Minnesota DFL party politics. He is a veteran strategist of numerous gubernatorial, congressional, legislative, and Saint Paul mayoral campaigns. He has also served as an advisor to many public officials and business leaders.

Bob is active on the board of the Saint Cloud State University Foundation and also chaired the Saint Paul Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee. He also served as a board member of the Minnesota Historical Society.

Bob has a bachelor's degree in American history from Saint Cloud State. Bob and his wife are avid travelers and often spend time in Barcelona, their home away from home.
